You can access your PTS computer from your home computer through Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection.

 

Remote Desktop cannot start your computer; your PTS computer must be running in order to access it.

Your PTS computer must not be set to go into either sleep or hibernation mode. Remote Desktop cannot wake them.

From your PTS work computer:

You will need your PTS computer name and your computer's domain name to connect.

To find them, click Start button > Control Panel on your work computer.

 

Click System and Security.

 

Click See the name of this computer.

 

You will see your computer's name and the domain (probably "pts-eden.org"). Save these.

 

At your home computer:

To configure Remote Desktop:

Click the Start button and type "remote". Remote Desktop Connection should show at the top of the list. Click this.

 

The following screen will open. Click Options.

 

Click Advanced.

Click Settings.

 

Click Use these RD Gateway server settings and enter "vpn.ptsem.edu".

Be sure Use by RD Gateway credentials for the remote computer is checked. Click OK.

 

Click the "General" tab. Enter the information obtained from your PTS computer in the following form:

Computer: ComputerName

User name: pts-eden.org\UserName

Click Connect.

 

The following screen will probably appear. Click Yes. You are in.
