Webex allows for the usage of different types of audio connections when joining and participating in a meeting:

  • Computer audio
  • "Call in" audio

Be default Webex prefers to utilize the computer audio system when possible.  This means that the webex application is sending both your video and audio over it signal for the meeting. As a participant or meeting host, You do have the ability to change this option when connecting.

Switching to the "Call in" audio option can help to save your computer's resources and lighten your computer's draw on the internet usage.  This is a recommended option especially if you have a low or poor audio connection.  The call in audio option allows you to use a home or cell phone to call a phone number and be joined into the meeting.  Your home or cell phone will then become your audio device for the remainder of the meeting.
