In order to students to access Nvivo (data analysis software), they will need to first contact email@example.com for permissions. To run the application they’ll need to utilize a remote desktop connection application to connect to the Nvivo system. The user must be in ACL-NvivoUsers to have access to the server & application.
Within Windows, Select the start menu, all programs, Accessories, Communications, and select remote desktop connection.
On a Mac, Users can download the Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Application from the Mac App Store.
The server information is:
nvivo11.ptsem.edu - for on campus connections
nvivo11.ptsem.edu:5001 - for off campus connections
The user should not have to provide any login information within the application to gain connection.
Once the remote desktop connection is established, the user will see a login window. User should enter their username (firstname.lastname) and password for their PTSEM account.
