Troubleshooting Guide:

Follow these steps in order to fix common issues.
NOTE: Complete each step one at a time and do not move to the next step unless the previous step fails to resolve the issue. In most cases, you will not need to complete every step to fix the issue.

 Video

Projector will not turn on.

  1. If a green or red power light is not visible on the projector, find the remote to the projector and press the power button.
  2. If the project still does not turn on, restart the entire system from the podium.

Projector is on, but is not showing presentation

  1. Ensure a green or red power light is visible on the projector. If so, ensure the HDMI cord or adapter is fully inserted into your device.
  2. Go to the display settings of your device and ensure that the projector is selected as an output device.
  3. Ensure that the “blank screen” button on the podium is not selected.
  4. If the problem persists, find the remote and use the input button to cycle through available sources.

TV will not turn on

  1. Ensure the TV is plugged into an active outlet (i.e. – occasionally the power strip might be switched off or the extension cord has fallen out).
  2. If using a remote to turn the TV on is unsuccessful, try using the power button located on the panel. The batteries in the remote may be dead.
  3. Trying plugging TV into a different outlet.

TV is on, but is not presenting screen

  1. First, ensure that the cord/adapter is fully inserted into your device.
  2. Go to the display settings of your device and ensure that the TV is selected as an output device.
  3. If a “Laptop/PC” button is present (on the TV stand or cabinet), press the button once.
  4. Use the remote to cycle through the inputs until the presentation shows on screen.

Audio

Projector is presenting screen, but audio is silent

  1. First, ensure that the cord/adapter is fully inserted into your device.
  2. Go to the audio settings of your device and ensure that the projector is selected as an output device.
  3. Raise the volume of the program playing your media (iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, Netflix).
  4. Raise the volume on your device settings.
  5. Use the podium screen to raise the volume.

TV is presenting screen, but audio is silent

  1. First, ensure that the cord/adapter is fully inserted into your device.
  2. Go to the audio settings of your device and ensure that the TV is selected as an output device.
  3. Raise the volume of the program playing your media (iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, Netflix).
  4. Raise the volume on your device settings.
  5. Use the remote to raise the volume of the TV.

The microphone will not turn on

  1. First, make sure that the microphone has been properly turned on. A red or green light should be visible on the body of the microphone.
  2. If the light fails to appear, check the battery pack to ensure the batteries have been installed properly. 
  3. If the batteries are dead, new batteries can be found in the podium.

The Microphone is on but is not working

  1. Use the podium screen to raise the volume of the microphone.
  2. [ONLY APPLIES TO MILLER CHAPEL & GAMBREL] Use the soundboard to increase the volume of each microphone independently.

Internet

My device isn’t connected to the internet

  1. All students and faculty should connect to the PTS-Secured network using their PTS supplied username and password

  2. Guests can connect to 
    SSID: PTS-Guests
    Password: PTSInternet1812
